Pricing Manager
We are seeking a Pricing Manager to lead the development, implementation, and management of pricing models, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in our proposals. This role is pivotal in improving profitability and enhancing SafeLane’s market positioning. The Pricing Manager will collaborate closely with the Commercial, Finance, and Operations teams, contributing to our medium- and long-term strategy to increase competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pricing, profitability, and margin analysis for all SafeLane services.
- Develop and establish a dedicated pricing function within the Commercial Team.
- Understand client requirements across several industries, including humanitarian, industrial, infrastructure, oil & gas, renewable, NGOs, UN, and governments.
- Support the Commercial Team to win bids, working cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Procurement.
- Manage pricing strategies for projects across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to streamline pricing, forecasting, and reporting.
- Lead the financial discussion in E-auctions and ensure that any BAFO is a win-win.
- Lead financial discussions for bids ranging from $50k to $50m+ in total contract value (TCV), ensuring costing and capturing of financial requirements is accurate.
- Analyse CAPEX requirements, break-even analysis, and apply relevant tax and discount considerations.
- Review and analyse lost bids from a costing perspective to Improve future costings/bids, providing recommendations to the Commercial Team for future improvements.
- Develop robust pricing models with an emphasis on user interface improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, bid processes, and finance/HR policies.
- Uphold anti-bribery and anti-corruption standards in line with company and international laws.
- Promote best practices in disciplinary action, appeals, grievance, and whistleblowing.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Pricing Manager role, ideally within an international organization.
- Qualified or part-qualified in Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics with a focus on modelling/data analysis (preferred).
- Experience in preparing cost models, pricing strategies, and competitor analysis.
- Understanding of international tax and financial regulations, and experience in forecasting in a project-based environment.
- Familiarity with performance bonds and bank guarantees is a plus.
Key Skills:
- Fluent in written and spoken English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, macros) and database management.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, and work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Hands-on approach with a “can-do” attitude.
- Expertise in creating comprehensive cost models for international operations.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, and P&L management.
- Ability to provide board-level reporting and variance analysis.
