In addition to the provision of mine action services, SafeLane Global also specialise in the delivery of canine services to meet its client’s various detection and protection needs. This includes the provision of explosive detection dog (EDD), narcotic detection dog (NDD) and patrol dog teams. To support operations SafeLane Global often recruits for canine project managers.

In addition to the provision of mine action services, SafeLane Global also specialises in the delivery of canine services to meet client’s various needs.

This includes the provision of Explosive Detection Dog (EDD), Narcotic Detection Dog (NDD) and Patrol Dog Teams.

Whilst some of SafeLane Global's canine projects are just a few teams strong, others include well over 50 specially-trained dogs and their respective handlers.

Therefore, SafeLane Global frequently recruits for experienced canine project managers who are able to effectively lead and manage international canine programs.

Canine project managers are responsible for the overall management of SafeLane Global's international projects, with their scope of work covering many elements including:

  • Operational planning and implementation
  • Financial and budgetary control
  • Reporting
  • Management of quality management procedures

As SafeLane Global’s primary representative on project, the Canine Project Manager is a key figure in maintaining and continuing to develop the relationship between SLG and the Client.  The relationships SafeLane Global has with its Clients are of paramount importance, and we always seek to go the extra mile to accommodate their needs.  

SafeLane Global UK office maintains daily communications with our Canine Project Managers, with ongoing support provided by SLG Project Executives and the respective Operation Manager. As the lead SLG representative in the field, our Canine Project Managers are responsible for advising SLG UK office of any potential problems related to operations, personnel and equipment.

We recruit both English and French-speaking Canine Project Managers, and SLG always seek to provide those looking to get in to Project Management with the opportunities and support needed to make that next step in their career.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications:

  • Certified Canine Handler & Trainer (in a variety of specialities)
  • Management qualification desired (e.g. Prince2)
  • English OR French speaking proficiency

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years' experience of project managing canine projects
  • At least 10 years’ operational experience as a Canine Handler and / or Trainer.
  • Working on canine projects in Africa and / or the Middle East desirable
