About Project Masam
In its tradition of giving and because of its humanitarian vision, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is extending the lifesaving mine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance work of Project Masam in Yemen for a fourth consecutive year.
To date, Masam has cleared 87,927 landmines, 6,078 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and 169,792 items of UXO.
This has enabled the clearance of 24,800,280 sqm of land in Yemen. Having been remediated, cleared land is returned to local communities for their safe usage.
The Masam clearance teams are indebted to The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and look forward to building on the clearance achievements throughout 2021 and into 2022.
